I think it’s a valid question, but, at the same time, I worry about the types of people asking it. Not so worried about you asking it, but I think there are a lot of “creative entrepreneurs” who ask that question as a gambit to disrupt and even dismantle schools. This is sometimes a fun thought experiment for those privileged enough to weather the consequences of that happening, but our more vulnerable students need us to be the adults in the room, finding ways to build something better, more humane, more responsive.
